Welcome to Nailmaker Distilling Co., where tradition meets innovation in the heart of Darton, Barnsley.

Our distillery, named after the district’s rich history of nail making in the 19th century, pays homage to the skilled artisans who once populated these lands.

Starting with our renowned gins, such as Watertons Reserve, we have expanded our collection to include a range of exquisite blends, including rums, vodkas, and party liqueurs.

As a testament to our craftsmanship, we also offer bespoke label products for retail, bar, and personal use.

Led by our esteemed Master distiller and hospitality consultant, David Owens, with over 25 years of experience in the industry, we have been crafting exceptional drinks since 2018.

Our dedication to quality has earned us numerous accolades, including Silver prizes in the International Wine and Spirits competition.

Dave Owens

Master Distiller

Passionate beverage-trade professional based in the UK. Experienced in spirit production and artisan distillery management, bar & restaurant design, operations, service, turnkey training curriculums, bespoke consultancy solutions, cocktail menu development, beverage products of luxury hotels & resorts, spirit distribution & wholesale, brand development, product management and the establishment of multiple food & beverage driven businesses around the world.

Multinational background with global hospitality brands and SME businesses, new openings, existing business regenerations and an exceptional success rate with highly challenging projects in over 25% of the world's countries and on six of the world's continents.

Chloe Wilkinson

Production Manager

Chloe Wilkinson runs production as our distiller and blender at Nailmaker Distilling Company, where her meticulous approach to crafting spirits draws on her background in the world of luxury tea. Chloe honed her expertise in flavour and aroma at a renowned luxury tea company that crafted custom blends for prestigious clients like Harrod’s and Kensington Palace. She’s literally made tea for royalty!

Chloe makes sure that each and every product we make meets the high standards she’s known for. Her role extends beyond the stills; she actively engages with the community through market events, stall hosting, and distillery sampling sessions, sharing her passion and knowledge of Nailmaker's spirits with everyone that pops in to say hello!
